Overview of Lobuche East Peak Climbing

Lobuche East  Peak climbing  is well known for two different summits, East Peak (6,119 m) and west peak (6,145 m). The East Peak is acknowledged as a trekking peak, while others for Expedition Peak.Lobuche East Peak climbing is a thrilling mountaineering adventure standing at an elevation of 6,119 m(20,075ft).

When we climb to the southern Base Camp at an altitude of 5500 meters, we will have excellent views of Ama Dablam (6812m, 22349ft), Tobouche peak and many more spectacular mountains. This outstanding trek has an exploration of Kala Pathar elevation (5550m) and Everest Base Camp (5360m). Further expansion has a fantastic ridge overlooking the amazing Louche and Khumbu glaciers. Louche Peak climbing offers a great opportunity for you, and it will always be memorable.

Your adventure to Lobuche East Peak begins with 35 min flight enjoying the scenic view .The trek passes through the pine forest,different charming village including Namche Bazar,Tengboche,Dingboche. After we reach to Dingboche we will trek to Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep and then hike up to the Kala Pattar at 5,545m which is a great place to see the view of Mt.Everest.We will descend back to Lobuche for 1 day acclimatization before we go to the Lobuche Peak climb.Once you reach to the height of 6,119m you’ll feel that feeling of achievement which will remain for lifetime.We descend back to Lukla via the same route and then fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 01 Arrive at Kathmandu,alt.1300m

Our representative will come to pick you up at the airport and transfer to your Hotel. Once you reach the hotel you will be checked in your room and refreshed.

If you arrive on afternoon and we have time today we will give you the short trip briefing about following days programs and instruction with the guide, if encase arrive late in the afternoon and then you will meet your guide next morning.

Day 02 Kathmandu visit and trek preparation

After a nice breakfast at Hotel you will go for a short visit to Swayambhunath temple and Kathmandu durbar square. After lunch we will check your trekking and climbing gear before we head to the mountains. If you do not have enough clothes and are thinking of having more clothes you can still buy them in kathmandu at Thamel market.

In the meantime our office team will prepare your Lobuche east peak climbing permits and trip necessary documents. We will also let you know more information about tomorrow’s programs such as the flight to Lukla etc.

Day 03 Fly to Lukla-Phaking(alt.2780m lukla ,2610m phakding)

Early in the morning you will be driving to the airport to catch your flight Lukla. Sometimes flights can be delayed due to the air traffic , weather changes. Once you land in Lukla at the Edmund Hillary airport we will meet your trekking crews and after short break , you will trek to Phakding.

As phakding is lower than Lukla you will gradual descends through the most popular village of this area called Chaudi Kharka Chhupling, Ghat and final stretch out to Phakding. Phakding is one of the nice places to spend the night .If you arrive early in the afternoon you can also hike a few hundred meters up to Monastery for the first acclimatization of Lobuche peak climbing, which should help you sleep.

Day 04 Phakding to Namche Bazar,alt.3400m

After breakfast, you will start your day. Generally it takes 5 to 6 hours to walk from Phakding to Namche. Along the way you will cross several suspension bridges over the Dudh kosi river. After a 2 hours walk from Phakding you will reach Manjo where we will buy sagarmatha national park permits and then you will shortly descend to Jorsalle for a warm lunch. From Jorsalle you will follow the dudh kosi river gradually ascending to phedi roughly 40 minutes to 1 hrs, where two rivers called Khumbu khola and Thame khola. From here you will cross one of the tallest suspension bridges of Everest region and ascend to Namche for overnight stay tentatively 500m final 2 more hours . If the weather permits you will have the first view of mount everest from chorcamp ,if not you will have to wait for another day from Namche.
Additionally , Namche is the headquarters of Khumbu region , where you can see many comfortable lodges, fancy shops, bakery , and machine coffee. If you are right on time on Friday every week you can also explore the local markets

Day 05 Acclimatization at Namche Bazar,alt.3400m

Today is your first acclimatization day of this trek, after breakfast you will go for a 3 to 4 hours hike to Everest view Hotel (alt. 3800m). Hike to Everest view hotels shall reward you with enhanced views of mount Everest range , Mt.Ama-Dablam , Thamserku , Khangdega, Kongde peak , Tawagche including many other beautiful peaks. Along the way to Everest view hike you will also visit the Sagarmatha national park , cultural monastery. Once you back from hiking you will have lunch and after lunch you have free time to look around the shops in Namche before dinner.

Today’s hike also helps you to acclimatize to the high altitude. When you reach higher then you sleep will help us to sleep with good feelings in mountains.

Day 06 Namche to Tengboche,alt.3800m

On  the day 6 of your trek you will trek to Tengboche about 5 to 6 hours including lunch break. Leaving Namche bazaar you will have good views of mount everest , Amadablam , Thamserku and many more. After a 2 hours trek you will reach kya Juma, where you can stop for tea and enjoy the view of himalayas. And then you will descend to Phunggi Thanga another 1 hrs , where we will stop for lunch. Final 2 hours you will ascend to Tengboche hills approx 500 m. Once you reach Tengboche you can also visit the monastery. Every afternoon after 4pm the monastery will allow travelers inside and if you want you can also participate in puja and experience their daily puja ceremony. If the weather is clear you will also see the sunset over Mt. Everest and Ama Dablam from Tengboche hill.

Day 07 Tengboche to Dingboche,alt.4410m

Another beautiful day will start after a warm breakfast. Today you will trek to Dingboche about 5 to 6 hours including lunch break. First you will descend to Deboche half an hour and gradually walk Khumbu river bridge and cross the suspension bridge and ascend to Pangboche village (alt. 3900m). Continue trek to Sammer where you will stop for lunch and final 2 more trek to Dingboche village (alt.4410m) through the windy valley. Dinboche is another nice place where you can explore the good views of Ama Dablam, Island peak , and Mt. Lhotse and Nuptse face in close distance.

Day 08 Acclimatization at Dingboche,alt.4410m

Second acclimatization day of this trek. After breakfast you will go for a short hike to Nagarjung viewpoint (5000 m above ) for good acclimatization and exploring the best view of Ama Dablam, Island peak including numerous popular peaks in close distance.

These hikes will help you to be more confident to reach Lobuche peak summit and Everest base camp, Kalapathher as today’s summit is almost similar highest with Everest base camp and Kalapathher. Afternoon you will return to the lodge for lunch and rest of the time to rest and relax until dinner time.

Day 09 Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche,alt.4900m

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche is another remarkable hike as you will walk through the beautiful  mountains views  such as Pumri, Tawache, Tsolachte Ama Dablam and cross the grassy yak kharka. After 2 hours you will reach Thukla, where you can take hot tea and some energy foods before we go steep ascending to Thukla pass (alt. 4800m). On top of the Thukla pass you will see many memorial statues of nepali sherpa and foreigner climbers who died during the Everest expedition. After taking some photographs and exploring some history of climbers you finally hike to Lobuche 1.5 hours before the end of the day.

Day 10 Lobuche to Everest base camp(alt.5364m)-Gorak shep alt.5120m

Today is your  highlighted day of this trek as you will reach the world highest mount Everest base camp(alt.5360m) – EBC . You will start your day early in the morning after a quick breakfast at Lobuche. First section of the walk you will trek to Gorak Shep (alt. 5120m) in 2.5 hours, at Gorak Shep we will have lunch and after lunch you will continue to hike to Everest base camp another few hours from Gorak Shep. Hiking to Everest base camp is not easy as you are reaching the highest mount Everest base camp) (5364m , 17000 Ft ) and the landscapes of the trail, feels less oxygen on buddy , and altitude gains give you challenges , but you will do it slowly with our professional guidance with an experienced team who will help you all the time during your journey to EBC. After stretching your leg at EBC you will return back to Gorek shep for overnight stay approx 1.5 to 2 hours, gradually descending.

Day 11 Trek from Gorak shep to Kala Patthar viewpoint (5550m, 18304 Ft.) and back to Lobuche,alt.4900m

Early in the morning ,you will hike to Kalapathher viewpoint (alt.5550m) from Gorak Shep. Generally It takes 2.5 to 3 hours to reach the top of Kalapathar from Gorak Shep ascends 400m up . it may take even more than usual time as you are hiking in the high section of the trek above 5000m from sea level , and feel less oxygen in our buddy while breathing. Once you reach the top of the Kalapather (alt. 5550m) you shall be rewarded with 360 degree views of Mt. Everest view with sunrise view over Mt. Everest includes numerous beautiful peaks surrounded. With great experience to reach the highest point of this trek now you will return to lodge for a warm breakfast and continue the trek back to Lobuche.

Reaching to the Kalapathher viewpoint (alt. 5550m- almost 18000 Ft ) also good benefits as you are going to climb Lobuche peak 6176m following the program.

Day 12 Trek from Lobuche to High Camp,alt.4940m

After  reached to EBC & Kalapather viewpoint, which are must popualar  section of this trek such as EBC basecamp (alt. 5364 m , and reaching Kalapathar viewpoint alt. 5550m your last final adventure Lobuche peak climbing swill biggines from here. You will meet your climbing guide at Lobuche who will take you to the summit of Lobuche peak (alt. 6176 m ). Today after breakfast you will trek to the highcamp of Lobuche peak in 4 to 5 hours. In the afternoon your guide also teaches you basic knowledge about using climbing gears such as checking the boots and sharing some skills about using the rope ascending and descending etc.. After early dinner you will go to sleep as you are going to start the next morning summit journey every early in the morning. Your guide will announce tonight a short briefing about summit ascents

Tonight you will have a different experience as you’re gonna sleep in a tent over 5000 m high in the mountains and food and drinks will be provided by our kitchen crews.

Day 13 High camp-summit-high camp,alt.4940m to summit alt.6120m)

Today is the final highlighted, challenging , adventure and rewarding day of this trip as you are going to conquer the summit of Lobuche east peak from Highcamp.
Very early in the morning about 1 am your guide will wake you up and prepare to go to the summit. After drinking hot tea , water and taking some energy food we will slowly start our journey to the summit with a head touch. Your guide will lead the trail and he will also help you to fix your boots with crampons , harness , and warm gears. You will climb the normal route as other climbers use to climb.approx from high camp to summit takes 7 to 8 hours ,but it all depends on your speed. Sometimes it may take more than usual time as well. Anyway once you reach the summit of Lobuche peak (alt. 6176m) you see the best view of Mount Everest, Lotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam including 100s of beautiful peaks in very close distance. After fulfilling your dream to climb a 6000m higher mountain in Nepal you will slowly return to Highcamp. Descending is much easier than ascending in the morning, it will take a few hours to get back to highcamp. You will have a good rest, take off the shoes and big jackets and take a good rest for a while. Kitchn crews will prepare for you hot lunch and hot drinks which will relieve your buddy after many hours of climbing higher in the mountain.

Climbing Lobuche east peak Everest region also open your door to climb more bigger mountains in the future. Day 14 Reserve day encase for bad weather or any issues during the Expedition

In case of bad weather, we couldn’t start the summit yesterday and then we can go to the summit today. If we do it in our regular plan, then you can use it as a rest day somewhere in a nice area along the way back to Lukla.

Day 16 Pangboche to Namche,alt.3400m

on the 16th day we will hike back to Namche from Pangboche while returning back the route features the stunning mountain views and lush valley .We will begin our trek from Pangboche-a village situated at approx 3,930m and end in Namche bazar. A busting town at an altitude of 3,440m.In terms of trails it is generally well-maintained and is easy to navigate also You can expect to walk on a combination of dirt paths ,stone steps and crossing the Dudh Koshi River

Day 17 Namche Bazar to Lukla,alt.2780m

Today we will trek back to Lukla to catch a flight for kathmandu.The route from Namche Bazar to Lukla is a part of classic Everest Base Camp trek and is a common return route for trekkers heading back from the higher elevation.The distance between Namche Bazar to Lukla is approximately 19 kilometers,so it usually takes around 5-6 hrs of trek.We will return back while taking our time to admire the beautiful mountains ,landscapes .While returning back we will also pass through different sherpas settlements such as Jorsale,Monjo and Phakding where we can stop to have some lunch and continue our journey until we reach to our destination Lukla

We will catch morning flight to Kathmandu from Lukla’s Tenzing-Hillary Airport (also known as Lukla airport) is also the main gateway to the Everest region.It will take around 30-35 min and the flight offers the stunning aerial views of Mount Everest and other surrounding peaks .After arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport we will escort you to your hotel and your trek ends here however if you want to extend more days doing tourism activities or exploring new places then feel free to say we will arrange everything however you need to pay for the extra activities.

The best season for Lobuche East Peak climbing is the spring and autumn seasons.as these two seasons offer a truly magical experience, including breathtaking landscapes, pleasant weather, vibrant cultural encounters, and many more.
Spring(March to May) is a spectacular time to trek or peak climbing as the hillsides come alive with the vibrant colors of blooming rhododendron forests. The trails are covered with shades of red, pink, and white creating a picturesque backdrop against the snow-capped peaks. The weather during spring is generally mild and stable with clear skies and comfortable temperatures during the day.
The spring season includes several cultural festivals including the lively celebrations of Holi and Nepali New Year so, trekking in this time allows you to witness traditional ceremonies, and cultural rituals in the local villages along the trail. The crystal clear skies offer stunning views of the Himalayas peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. Spring is also a great time for wildlife sightings in the Everest region. Autumn(September to November)

Altitude Sickness:

Altitude sickness also known as Acute Mountain Sickness(AMS) is a significant concern for the climbers attempting to summit Lobuche East Peak, elevation of 6,119m(20,075 ft)means there is the risk of experiencing altitude-related symptoms as you ascend to the Higher altitudes. Some of the symptoms of altitude sickness are Headache, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, and difficulty sleeping. More severe forms of Altitude sickness are High altitude pulmonary edema(HAPE) and high altitude cerebral edema(HACE) which can be life-threatening.In order to avoid altitude sickness acclimatization is very essential.
The climber should ascend gradually allowing their body to give time to adjust to the decreased oxygen level at higher altitude. It’s recommended to spend a few day acclimatizing at lower elevations before attempting to finally ascend to Lobuche East Peak. Staying hydrated is essential for preventing altitude sickness.Climbers should drink plenty of water and maintain a balanced diet so that it helps to sustain their energy level during the trek. If climbers experience any symptoms then they should immediately tell to guide or fellow climbers keeping by themselves will only worsen the case and telling the guide is important so that they can decide whether you can trek/climb further or not . If the case is severe then immediate descent is necessary to prevent further complications.

Accommodation:

Accommodation during Lobuche East peak climbing expedition varies along the route.Trekkers/Climbers will stay at tea houses or Lodges until the base camp these type of teahouse offers the basic yet comfortable accommodation.The rooms consist of twin-bed with pillow,blanket with shared bathrooms and the facilities also depends on the teahouses.In some part we can have an access of Wifi ,hot water for shower and electricity.But as we reach to higher altitude the facilities becomes limited. Teahouses provides hearty meals such as dal Bhat,soups,noodles and beverages like tea and coffee.

As the trek progresses and we reach to base camp the  accommodation options will transform to camping.climbers usually stay in tents pitched at designated camping sites..The company will provide fully equipped camping setups including tents ,sleeping bags and nutritious meals prepared by experienced cooks.

Lobuche East Peak climbing difficulty

Climbing Lobuche East Peak is a moderate to challenging mountaineering journey, suitable for experienced climbers with technical climbing experience. Lobuche East Peak stands at approximately 6,119m(20,075 ft )above sea level. Altitude-related challenges such as altitude sickness, reduced oxygen levels, and extreme weather conditions are significant factors to be considered. While it is not technically demanding like like other peaks in region like Everest, Lhotse still requires basic mountaineering skills which includes the knowledge of rope techniques, crampon and ice axe usage, and glacier travel. Before you start Lobuche Peak climbing, you have to trek from Lukla to Lbuche Base Camp with an average of 6-7 hrs of trekking per day.

After crossing the Lobuche village, the trail starts to get rough, steady, and rocky. There is a tough part just before the top where the path gets really steep and covered in snow.
