Pokhara is at an altitude of 827m above the sea level and 200km to the west of Kathmandu. Furthermore,  Pokhara is right next to Kathmandu in tourist destination list. In fact, this region has beautiful lakes and places to visit and rest. We are accompanied by mesmeric Fewa Lake, Barahi temple, World Peace Pagoda, Begnas Lake and Rupa Lake, Mahendra cave and Bats cave, Devi’s fall, Bindhyabasini temple and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave and many other. Of course, Pokhara is famous for trekking, rafting, and destinations. The city is varied with different natives of different castes, religion, ethnicity, and languages.

1.  World Peace Pagoda

Southern part of Fewa Lake also has World Peace Pagoda on top hill. It is a grand Buddhist stupa. Furthermore, the site accesses to the glimpse of Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (fishtail), Manaslu range, and the Pokhara city.

2. Gupteshwor Mahadev cave

Right opposite to Devi’s fall lays a beautiful Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave. Not to mention, the cave is 2km far from Pokhara airport. Guptesshwor Mahadev cave is famous for Shiva lingam. In addition, Shiva Lingam holds spiritual value in the Hindus religion. The cave is 3 km length. Furthermore, The cafe has beautiful and natural pictures of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Ganesh. There lies a tunnel behind the Linga which is accessible after a certain amount of fee.

3. International Mountain Museum

Pokhara International Mountain Museum coats the information and reveals about the Mountain and Mountain activities around the world.  Therefore, the Museum opens daily from 9 am to 4:30 pm. In fact, Many visitors reach this temple for being peaceful surroundings, watching birds and reflection of the Himalayan range in the lake. We can reach to Barahi temple through boating.

6.  Devi’s fall

Patale Chango is also known to be as Devi’s Fall. It means underground waterfall. In addition, The main source of the waterfall is Fewa lake and the waterfall has pre-monsoon swimming to its left and behind. Devi’s fall is an interesting spot for visit and a mesmeric waterfall. Regrettably, a Swiss tourist couple fell into the water and drowned. At this point, the waterfall was recognized as Devi’s fall.

7.  Mahendra Cave and Bats Cave

Mahendra cave along with other places is the popular visiting spot in Pokhara. For this reason, The cave was named after the Late king Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah. The cave is surrounded by varieties of limestone. The limestone (rock) sparkles when the light strikes on it. Bat cave resides near the Mahendra cave. Bat cave is also known for the house of bats.

8. Bindhyabasini Temple

Bindhyabasini temple is the center temple for religious activities. It is situated at the old bazaar. In addition, The temple is bestowed to the Goddess Bhagwati, the demonstration of Shakti.

9.  Phewa Tal (lake) Pokhara

The center of attraction of Pokhara is Fewa Lake. In addition, it is the second largest lake after Rara lake. The average depth of Fewa Lake is about 8.6m (28ft) and it covers area roundabout 4043km square. Similarly, the reflected Himalayan range of Machhapuchhre (fishtail) adds magnificent beauty to the Fewa Lake. 10.  Sarangkot – Sunrise view 

Sarangkot is famous for sunrise and sunset glimpse. People also engage themselves by doing Paragliding from the Sarangkot. A grand view of mountains ranges like Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Ganesh. During the summer time, visitors come to this place for paragliding and hiking. One can also observe the appealing view of Fewa lake and Pokhara city from Sarangkot.
